This is a silicon adhesive backed polyimide insulating tape. It can withstand temperatures up to 280 degrees Celsius. This is the same as Kapton tape in all respects but name and price.
A good customer suggested I list all the different uses that this tape has been applied to.
I have sold this tape to:
- A Chef – to repair his cooking equipment due to the high temperature heat resistance
- Several Printers – Sublimation (High temperature) printing.
- Motor Mechanic – repairing exhaust pipes and mufflers.
- Car enthusiasts - insulate the fuel line along the side of the engine block. Another used it to insulate the electrical wiring that ran through the body channel next to the exhaust pipe to prevent the plastic coating from melting.
- Motor Cyclist – to insulate his exhaust pipes where his legs were inclined to make contact.
- Aerospace Engineer - used in rebuilding jet engines and other aircraft engines to insulate the fuel and gas lines.
- Cyclist – to line the rim of his wheel to protect the tube from rubbing on metal parts – extremely thin (0.6mm thick) and very strong and hard wearing.
- Electricians – to insulate joints and connectors in a heat sensitive environment.
- Trailer Manufacturer - used to protect the mechanical parts during the galvanising process - specifically when the axle is dipped in the zinc solution under extremely high temperatures.
- Hobbyists of all kinds - for electrical and high temperature insulation as well as being extremely thin to fit where other insulation is too thick, to not cause stress on other parts.

I am sure there are many other uses that I have not been told about. As I learn of them, I will add them to my list.
